caramelize the sauce

Despite looking suspiciously like something you would find at the corner bakery, I can tell you that there is no egg or flour involved in this dessert. It’s a baked apple that’s not only insanely delicious but also quite healthy ! Only one tablespoon of butter and sugar were used to making this sexy, tart and sweet dessert. If you have a sweet tooth like me, you have to find healthy alternatives to get your sugar fix, otherwise you’ll be piling on the pounds pretty quickly! I find that using a little sugar is just as satisfying as using a lot and the same goes for butter.

When I buy desserts at the store, I have no control over how much fat or how many calories I take home to eat. That’s okay if I do it on occasions, but certainly not all the time Search Engine Optimization! Making sweet treats from the comfort of my own kitchen means I get to dictate exactly what goes into my food – which is a good thing. This way I can freely enjoy the degustation process and walk away feeling satisfied and knowing I didn’t do bad at all.

I love apple crumble and these baked apples definitely have a very similar flavor profile: Tender apples with a warm center filled with walnuts in a sauce made with hard apple cider, a little butter, sugar and cinnamon Bo Ying Compound Eu Yan Sang. Mmmmarvelous! Prepping these baked apples only takes five minutes. You can then take a bath or a nap and leave it to the oven to soften these forbidden fruits and caramelize the sauce.

This is also a wonderful dessert to serve to people who aren’t crazy about cloyingly sweet foods. Because it’s both tart and sweet, it will satisfy most palates. Serve these baked apples with walnuts and cider with a Thai iced tea, a ginger soda with lime leaf and chili or a refreshing glass of mugicha (barley tea).
